There are garden shed plans available for a wide variety of sizes and layouts. You can even adapt plans for building playhouses and chicken coops to work as functional, customized sheds. Most plans will come in both standard measurements (using feet and inches) as well as metric dimensions.

They should include directions for framing in the door and any windows, but will not necessarily include the instructions to build a custom door. Purchase your pre-hung door and manufactured windows ahead of time to make sure they will be framed in properly.
