At our house, Dress Up is a favorite game. While Miss Dot has plenty of costumes in the form of dresses, tiaras, wands, tutus, etc., sometimes you just want to be a pig. We decided to get creative and make some pig ears one day, and we made it all from things we had around the house (including scraps!).
Pink feltWhite battingHeadbandScissorsGlue (we used hot glue, but if youre more patient, your kiddo can totally do this with white glue) Scrap supplies for this toddler craft. Cut the pink felt into two diamonds. We folded it in half and cut out a triangle. (You get to learn about two shapes at once!) Cut two triangles, a bit smaller than the pink ones, from your scrap batting. Add glue to one side of the diamond and wrap it around the headband. Fold it in half and then add the other ear to bring your piggy costume to life. Glue on the batting. You cant tell me thats not the cutest thing youve seen all day. What I Learned the Hard Way: We were totally making this up on the fly, so I didnt think to measure the ears out in advance; and theyre a little on the big side. One of my friends suggested that maybe we were playing Olivia from the childrens books. Yeah thats thats totally what I was going for!
